I know Mom

http://youtube.com/watch?v=XmecyCCdknk

Jordan Posted this on his page where I first saw it. At first it didn't mean much to me but I kept thinking about it and how typical it is. I have a lot of conversations with my mom just like this :)

Gas Tank

If your tank is on the left, the handle will be on the left.
If your tank is on the right, the handle will be on the right (see photo above).
It is that simple!

Music Vidoes on Youtube/ Music Consumption

"sitting down and watching music was a new thing - it changed the mass market's notion of what music entertainment was," he says (Rigopulos). As we sit in his office he describes how Rock Band could be the next stage of evolution for the music industry, as well as the game industry.

I think its interesting how the way which people experience music continues to evolve. It will be interesting to see if 'Rock Band' will have the influence which music videos had in the early 90's. People stopped listening to music and started watching it. Will people stop listening to popular music and start *playing* it? Maybe not, but these types of game have had large cultural effects. Before guitar hero no one had heard of Dragonforce, and Id also argue that this game helped raise popularity of Arcade Fire and old Weezer music.

Fool me Once- Shame on You

In economics there is a law in which if an individual buys things in bulk, the value of each item degrades. This is why people go to stores such as Sam's Club where large amounts of things can be bought all at one time. As simple as this may seem, it should never justify thoughtless purchases.

So twice in the past couple of weeks, Ive had encounters where multiple items packaged as a single purchase, have cost more per unit. The first time I was buying some monster energy drinks, and I thoughtlessly fell for the trick. lately there has been no shame on me. I only bought one damn tube of tooth paste, as apposed to two packaged as one, costing about 50 more cents.

Sloth

To start Ill say that I stole this idea The Life of Pi

Generally I agree with Darwin. Only the strongest will survive. The smartest get ahead. As a race, we are where we are because throughout our development, the slow and the weak have died. We always try to be ahead of the pack.

But what about sloths? In nature they are so slow that they go undetected by predators. The key to understanding sloths is understanding that no matter how strong, fast, or smart we may be, there are always different arenas to compete on. "Theres always more than one way to skin the cat."

Cycling Advantures in Park Forest on a Warm Winter Day

CODENAME: LONG LINES

Im starting to think that AT&T long lines was codename for some ominous governmental program and there is even proof.

Considered one of the ugliest buildings in Manhatten, this Long Lines tower is designed to withstand a nuclear blast. The structure is entirely devoid of windows. The building mostly houses hardware and is comprised of 29, 6 meter, stories. How did this thing ever even get approved for construction? The six large protrusions give the tower an intentional fortress look.

Not far from where I live, this next LONG LINES TOWER was built in 1954 and is designed to relay phone calls. This tower is one of many microwave relay towers across the Midwest.

In any case we were serious business

I doubt the towers are associated with mal behavior, other than that associated with frustration of chronic eye soar.

Global Mourning

This is another Wired Magazine rip. The article talks about how the impacts of global warming may be more complex than we had originally imagined.

The Matrix and Garden State

I realized about a week ago that there are uncanny parallels between these movies.

I think that they both are about changing perspective. In both movies the main male actors are going about their lives when they suddenly have an inspiring event, connected with an attractive female. In both movies, the protagonists end up seeing their lives differently after a series of evoking events. The antagonists are also largely conceptual.

What is more, there are some serious similarities between the characters which Keanu and Zach typically play. Still, less, but existent similarities between Natalie Portman and Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity).

Happy New Year!

and honestly, what better way to bring it in than with a brand new, web 2.0, barely legal, totally tricked out music player searcher
